Ghosts are the two energies fused together. The theory goes when people die with a lot of intense emotions, the unfinished business, that energy pulls ecto energy to it and that forms a ghost. At least for those kind of ghosts, there's theories there's a few different kinds, but that's like the traditional ghost.
Usually ecto energy can't respond to human emotions like that, even when surrounded by a lot of ecto, because of all that...meat. [She gestures at herself and pauses.]
[Then a white ring appears around her waist, traveling over her body. Changing hair from white to black, eyes neon green to blue, skin a little less tan, voice a little less echoy.]
The meat interferes. It won't let it attach. Its why ghosts can't possess someone forever and stuff like ecto blasts don't work great on humans.
Half ghosts don't really happen without a....ah....let's say a certain kind of incident in an extremely high concentration of ecto energy.
